Upstate NY buried under 6 feet of snow

http://http://www.usatoday.com/weather/stormcenter/2007-02-08-lake-effect-snow_x.htmThe average United States female is 5 feet 4 inches and the average United States man is 5 feet 9 inches, snow reported in Oswego, N.Y., is coming in higher than both.

Since Sunday, small towns Parish and Mexico in upstate New York, have recorded more than 6 feet of snow and expected more today. Schools were closed ( Hooray for the students) for the fourth day, and more squalls of snow are expected around the weekend.

Get this, USA Today reported that snowplow drivers didn't start clearing out the snow until Wednesday. The women were already seeing snow eye to eye. Also, the big concern was not of getting the kids back in school or taking care of the 19 deaths that took place because of bad weather but for keeping the cities 800 fire hydrants clear.

"We're just trying to keep on top of digging out the hydrants," said Fire Chief Ed Geers.

WOW! Considering i'm from a place where snow falls often in the winter, I can't ever remember a time of hearing about or even seeing that much snow. I'm thankful that we didn't get that much snow here, because I would have been out of luck considering i'm only 5'0 tall.

Let me second the "wow" comment.

I used to live in Iowa, where I went to school. I don't miss the winters there at all.

I remember shoveling out our mailbox!

Long live S.C.!
